Or So We've Heard is an ongoing collaboration with Helen Sharp and local residents across the council areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Cookstown & Dungannon. For the project we organised a series of research gathering events across the council areas where we gathered place nicknames, remedies, recipes cures and contemporary urban myths and anecdotes. The unofficial and vernacular material collected does not appear on city street maps or other official, formal state or city documents. The interest in unofficial information stems from a concern regarding the politics of how place is described at a local level. This vernacular, word of mouth information was published in 2009. This book is illustrated with drawings and photographs relating to these areas. Research Events:It's Midsummers in Lurgan (21 June 2008); It's Halloween in Dungannon (Or So We've Heard) (10 October 2008); It's Lughnasadh in Banbridge (Or So We've Heard) (31 July 2008); Tea and Tours in Moneymore (Or So We've Heard) (29 August 2008); Hedgerow Harvest Its May Day in Dungannon (Or So We've Heard) (1 May 2009)
