PDF (Light Modulation) - Published Version

This output is a dissemination of collaborative project to explore and design with light as the very first project, first year undergraduate students undertook in Semester one, 2010. Light as a fundamental media in the study of form-giving, with lasting educational effect. Methods of teaching that springboard student imagination in great leaps are undoubtedly extremely valuable. This project does just that, starts with exploration in light modulating forms and structures with white paper, card and textile into formal constructs. These are later transferable into functional products, furniture, furnishings and spatial constructs. Additional advantage in this exercise was interdisciplinary and collaborative teamwork between 3D Design and Fashion and Textile Design staff students in shared language, skills, tools, workshops and studio activity as described in the booklet. This project was 'Art, Design and the Built Environment' grant aided scholarship, for materials, photography and print costs for publishing.
