Abstract
Contribution as panel speaker on Architecture and Sound debate. From the early notions of Vitruvius through to the work of Edgar Varese architects have been exploring both what it is to understand sound technically, but more importantly as an emotional sensorial field of the city. Taking James Joyce's Ulysses as an example of how the city sounds are charted and reconfigured in literature this talk explores sound and its 'bandwidth' in architectural and urbanistic perceptions.
