This publication presents the innovative use of architectural materials to achieve a highly site specific design solution. In this case corrugated fiber cement, an inexpensive robust material, is used to allow a roof form and geometry and the internal spatial volumes of the project to respond to the topography and landform of the rugged Island landscape of Arainn Mhor. A set of details were researched and developed to allow this material to be used in this new application satisfying both the design concept and pragmatic issues of robust protection against the elements in this dramatic but highly exposed landscape.
