An analysis of the work of Northern Ireland comedian James Young, this chapter highlights the importance of his work in relation to sound studies. The chapter argues that Young's work can be used to map the sonic geography of Belfast in particular, and Northern Ireland in general, and illustrates the way in which Young used his understanding of the Northern Irish soundscape to create characters which have entered the cultural mythology of the region.
