Abstract

This paper examines the influence of David Lean's 1970 film 'Ryan's Daughter' on tourism in the Dingle Peninsula of south-west Ireland. Through survey work with visiting tourists and interviews with key informants from relevant tourism and film bodies the paper sheds light on the enduring appeal and influence of the film and how it very much put Dingle on the tourist map.
