Abstract

'Une exposition venan d'Irlande vous offre des pieces de lin produites selon des methodes traditionelles et des approches modernes.'An exhibition curated by Fleming of contemporary Irish linen. This exhibition drew upon the work previously curated at the Smithsonian Institute - 'Reinventing linen' in 2009 and profiled contemporary cultural considerations in linen artwork in the Musee Regional de Kamouraska - context. The significance to the region was highlighted. This remote stretch along the river Lawrence retains a strongly connection with immigrant ships from Ireland and the region shares a linen and textile heritage. The exhibition co-incided with the Biennale du Lin de Portneuf.
