Lyons, Frank and Moore, Paul (2013) The River Still Sings. [Composition]

Full text not available from this repository.

The River Still Sings explores the divisive yet healing potential of rivers and of walls, in an interdisciplinary project featuring a commissioned text from Seamus Deane, narration by actor James Nesbitt, composition and sound design by Frank Lyons for performance by the Fidelio Trio, and visuals by Paul Moore. The piece investigates juxtapositions of the old and the very new, reflecting the journeys of the two great cities at the heart of the work. For example, the classical chamber music combination of Piano Trio, in the form of the Fidelio Trio, shares the performance space with a digitally generated 3-D hologram of the narrator and acoustic instruments with a long history are combined with soundscapes and live sound processing generated using powerful new computers.
