Abstract

This article explores how small young Internet-enabled rapidly internationalising firms from Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia across different sectors utilise clients as both a resource and as a source of knowledge. A founding member(s) from each firm was interviewed and the internationalisation process of the firm explored. Analysis of these interviews yielded data which suggests that clients were being used both as an external resource and as a source of knowledge, supporting and extending the resource based view of internationalisation.
