Abstract

The commitment to using football as a medium for addressing social issues is the central concern which links the work of Sport Against Racism Ireland (SARI) to the Football for Hope initiative. The integration of young people into Irish society through sporting events and educational workshops has been the core concern of SARI since its foundation in 1997, in direct response to the increasing number of racist attacks perpetrated against the growing non-Irish national population. This report focuses on the five programmes operated by SARI which have been made possible through funding from Football for Hope and are expected to have a continued impact with renewed support. • Soccerfest• World Refugee Day- Fair Play Cup• Soccernites• Count Us In• Living Together Through Football
