Abstract

Late potentials have been linked to patients predisposed to a sudden and possibly fatal arrhythmic event. This study focused on the Time Domain method for identification of Late Potentials in subjects with and without prior myocardial infarction. In all, sixteen different combinations of the parameter values (QRS duration, RMS40 and LAS duration) incorporating two different filters and bandwidths were evaluated for late potential identification; the results concluded that the utilization of different filters, bandwidths, and parameter values gave variable results in detecting subjects with late potentials, and may account for the inconsistencies reported in the literature.
