This article, ‘Aodh Mac Domhnaill: “tuiscint, cuimhne is toil shaor” ’ [‘Aodh Mac Domhnaill: “understanding, memory and free will” ’], discusses the life and work of the Co. Meath born poet Aodh Mac Domhnaill ((1802-67) who was employed as scribe and collector by Robert Shipboy MacAdam (1808-95), the Presbyterian industrialist, Irish language scholar and collector of Irish manuscripts.
