Abstract

This poem by Gilla Cóemáin recounts the many victories of Tigernmas, legendary king of Ireland. Tigernmas serves as a role model for the medieval kings. In other sources such as Eochaid Úa Flainn's 'Éitset áes ecna aíbind', he is credited with the introduction of many technological innovations and the institution of a specific dress-code for the various grades of free-men.
