Abstract

Ralf Sander investigates the relevance of transformation, invisibility and belief for the art. During his Exhibition in La Serpara Museum and sculpture garden, Ralf Sander presented a series of images and prints, protected in dark boxes and a thought manipulation machine, the Apocalytor. Once the images are exposed to light they will disappear. The images are portraits. The installation is comparable with the " Schroedinger`s Cat" experiment. It is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935 It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects. Also other techniques for image disappearance were developed in a rigorous process of series of experiments. The Machine is a sculptural construction exploring the use of fear to reduce our human rights, a powerful instrument of manipulation which will have you asking questions about the world in which we live. It contains a sound installation, whispered quotes of news and also the last interview with George Orwell about his Book 1984. In his installation Sander started to investigate mechanism of manipulation such as creating fear, fake news and felt truth.
