Abstract

This paper explores the how academics can support the student experience by developing ‘Student Entrepreneurs’. It describes how entrepreneurship is not limited to starting a business, but rather it is about a creative approach to learning, and engaging students to develop creative approaches to problem solving. The paper highlights the importance of ensuring that subject areas meet the needs of employers and are both ‘economy relevant’ and bespoke to the area. It describes the challenges associated with introducing enterprise and entrepreneurship into the curriculum and outlines effective tools and strategies to engage students in developing an entrepreneurial mindset.
