Abstract

The UK BIM Level 2 mandate was announced in the governments Construction Strategy in the summer of 2011. The BIM Task Group set about establishing regional hubs to provide a point of contact for local industry in preparing for the mandate that was set to take effect from April 2016. A review and reflection on the experiences and progress of Regional BIM implementation is provided along with a practical overview of the usefulness of the standards that support BIM level 2 and the technologies around Quantity Surveying interfaces with BIM level 2.
